The 5 Pillars to Ending the IT/Stakeholder Tug of War

In this session, Justin Norris tackles two inadequate ways of viewing Business Systems and proposes a new way to empower BT and the business to work together effectively. Instead of seeing the BT team as order takers or as gatekeepers, Norris recontextualizes the relationship to reframe BT within a product management framework. He introduces three big ideas to tee up this new approach: Your business users are your customers; systems are your products; and Business Systems = Product Management. He goes over the five pillars of the product management model to help bring a new light to how BT can function within an organization.
