In our first edition of Discover Workato, we’re excited to highlight some of the latest enhancements we’ve made to the Workato platform. This update was focused on two main themes - Manage at Enterprise Scale and Launch at Startup Speed. As organizations expand their usage of automation across multiple functions and departments, effectively managing these processes at scale can be a challenge. How do you ensure the right users have access to the right data and processes without hindering adoption? Automation HQ addresses this challenge by providing a centralized management and governance layer for administrators to more effectively oversee and engage Workato users across the business. The use of automation is also constantly expanding into new departments or applications so we’re showcasing a range of New Connectors for RPA, RevOps and HR use cases. We’ve consistently heard from customers, partners and leaders in this industry that every organization is looking to expand or invest in the use of automation across their business. The general market interest for automation has never been higher. Yet, the majority of organizations struggle to get started because of the age old question of what to automate and how to design processes for automation. This is exactly the problem we set out to solve for with Automation Accelerators. Take a deep dive into each of these exciting updates in our Summer 2021 showcase below.

One of the most significant product announcements we made at Automate 2021 is Automation HQ.
Our customers have seen tremendous adoption of Workato to automate a growing number of processes. They’re not only seeing growth in the sheer volume of automations but also in their diversity. To put some context to that, there are customers who have grown their usage of Workato by 6x over the past year. This is just staggering growth in that amount of time.
Administrators and different users must also have better visibility into how the product is being used - who is active in the different workspaces, what type of activities are being performed and how much value is being created. Without this knowledge and visibility, it’s very difficult to successfully manage and grow an organization’s automation practice. The newly released Business Operations Console advances the platform’s usage analytics & dashboarding so administrators can better understand usage, value and user activity across all workspaces in an enterprise.

New Connectors for RPA, RevOps and HR
The use of automation is essentially bound by what data, applications or processes an automation platform can integrate with. At Workato, our team is constantly adding integrations to new systems as a result of customer demand, partner developments and overall product strategy. This showcase focuses on our effort to deepen the breadth and depth of our integrations in core functions such as HR and RevOps while also introducing the ability to integrate with RPA use cases.
Many of the processes in HR have traditionally been great candidates for automation. Whether it be automating employee onboarding/offboarding, candidate experiences/communication or PTO approval management; there are a number of extremely popular and well-defined automations that help improve a company’s operational efficiency and the experience of their employees. We’re excited to expand upon our success automating HR processes with the expansion of our integrations with Greenhouse, Google Workspace and SuccessFactors. In addition, we’ve launched a new integration with UKG to help UKG Pro customers build and launch end-to-end automations in HR.
A lot has been written about the blank canvas or blank page challenge for artists and writers but many face the same challenge with automation. One of the strengths of the Workato platform is the ability to automate practically any process but many of the organizations we work with are just kicking off their automation journey. They understand the value of automation and are invested in developing the practice within their organization but need a jumpstart to get their first workflows off the ground.

Business Operations Console
The process of developing a new automation workflow or advancing an existing one is a collaborative and iterative process across numerous parties. However, managing the development, testing and production deployment of an automation workflow requires the same process, visibility and collaboration involved in deploying software. These same concepts must be brought to the process of developing & deploying automations. Advanced Lifecycle Management provides a completely seamless experience for managing this lifecycle, with built-in environments for each Workspace, and effortless deployment with a single click.
Lastly, community is so vital to the success of Workato and that of our customers. Our customers and partners must be able to extend the power of this automation community we’re building together with the introduction of Custom Communities. Custom Communities enable customers, partners and other parties to develop their own curated automation communities for sharing pre-built automations, templates and best practices with their colleagues. Through community collaboration, organizations will be able to build out their automation practice with the knowledge and experience of everyone across the business vs. a smaller community of users.

Automation workflow with UKG for equipment provisioning
Marketing, sales and customer success functions (aka RevOps) have also been extremely ripe areas for automation. One specific area that is continuing to grow is the automation of data enrichment to guide lead management and targeted marketing. On this front, we’re excited to share an expanded integration with ZoomInfo and the launch of a new integration with the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud. With this new integration, businesses can now seamlessly access the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud made up of millions of business records, and directly implement trusted data across 450+ applications such as Hubspot amongst others. As part of this update, we’ve also expanded Workato’s integration with Eloqua and LinkedIn to enhance our support for data syncing and campaign automation.
Gartner forecasts the RPA market to grow at double-digit rates through 2024. As the massive market opportunity for automation heats up, organizations are demanding more ways to automate their workflows across platforms and tools. Workato’s integrations with UiPath, Celonis and Ephesoft enable customers to extend their use of Workato to a broader set of use cases that are oriented more towards documents vs. APIs. Highlights of these integrations include:
UiPath - enable Workato recipes to connect to UiPath for UI-based automation to access a broader set of use cases.
Celonis - trigger Workato recipes off of process mining alerts from Celonis to automate remediation processes and notifications.
Ephesoft - classify, categorize and extract the right information from a variety of document sources in order to trigger Workato recipes off of key inputs.

We’re excited to introduce Automation Accelerators and the first set that are available for immediate use during Automate 2021. The future of Accelerators is even more exciting. We can’t wait to collaborate with partners and customers to launch their own Accelerators as we build up this library and the community contributing to them. Campaign Launchpad - empowers marketers to be more productive by democratizing their ability to create new campaigns using a standard format and process. Using a web form automatically populated with your Marketo program templates, campaign creators input required information mapped from the associated Marketo program’s tokens.

With Automation Accelerators, we’re focused on providing ready-to-use templates for common automations. Each Accelerator contains everything you need to automate common processes including reference data, custom connectors, pre-built recipes, solution components, instructional guides and more. They are fully customizable so an organization can leverage an Accelerator as a starting point for a specific process within their business without having to start completely from scratch.
But with this growth in scale and diversity, comes a need for more advanced management of the users, data, connections and recipes across the platform. The components of the automations for the finance department are very different from that of the HR or marketing functions. So Workato customers need the ability to configure and manage different workspaces for the different functions or purposes of Workato. This is exactly the problem being addressed with Federated Workspaces - a framework to centrally provision and control apps, tasks, and other resources across a variety of workspaces.
