A look into the State of Business Technology

Automation Is a High Priority

Nearly 3/4ths of respondents at Mid-Market companies said integrations and workflow automations are a high priority, but only a third are satisfied with the ones currently in place.

Approvals Need to Be Streamlined

74% of respondents (both BT professionals and the lines of business they serve) say approval workflows have already been automated at their organizations, but the majority of lines of business reported being dissatisfied with them.

LOB and BT need stronger ties

Only 18% of Business Technology leaders feel “very appreciated” by lines of business, while another 62% feel like they can’t deliver to lines of business fast enough. This may be driven by the fact that both groups largely disagree on which processes should be automated first.

Challenges to Transformation

Around half of BT respondents say “the time it takes to get things done using the tools at my disposal” is the biggest challenge to driving efficiency at their organizations.
